Week One: Family Ties Theme Song

Remember when Malorie started dating Nick, and everyone hated him? Or when Alex and Ellen broke up at the dance? How about when a key member of Alex’s debate team got sick, and he crash-coursed Malorie to fill in for him? Remember that? So do we!!

When Kristin and I were first dating, a long long time ago, we used to stay up really late watching re-runs of Family Ties. Thank you, Nick-At-Nite! And thus comes the inspiration for our first Song-A-Week number! This song teaches us that, indeed, there ain’t no nothing we can’t love each other through.

Our version was adapted from a midi file we found here, which was arranged by Neil Strawbridge of the webpage “TV’s Greatest Hits”.

Enjoy, and read more about this project here!

Sha la la la.

That is one sharp piece of work to kick off the year! The resemblance is so true to the original that I still can’t tell when or if they’re saying “with our love” or “with our lives” or both… Nice job!

    1. admin says:

Ha! I’m with you on that. Interestingly, it is neither. They’re saying: “Without us.”
