Week Eleven: Jolly Holiday

Some of you may have noticed that we just went ahead and slipped on past Week 10.  The flu followed by out of town visitors (love!) on top of just plain old life made week 10 our first week without working a song.  I’ve been trying to convince my handsome and loving partner that we can probably pull off 2 songs this week to make up for it, but so far I haven’t been successful. Maybe some demands from the fans might help….

Who doesn’t love Mary Poppins!?  This was a fun one, particularly the animal voices.  While we don’t set out each week to try something new, the orchestration for this one was a first; a good ol’ fashioned “kareoke-izing” of the original song, by using an ol’ fashioned phase flip.  Boy howdy, I could talk about phase all day long, but then I would be dead because Kristin would kill me.

Our teasers have been sketchy lately, as we have had to be flexible with what we sing based on how the week turns out, but what the heck:

Week Twelve Teaser:  Big hair and lots of reverb; you might say that this song is by a band that’s “out of proportion”.
