About

Last Christmas, Kristin wanted to record the song “Sisters” for, go figure, her sister. We were running low on steam and it turned into an exercise to see how quickly we could arrange and record it.

We put the internet to work for us, and within mere moments we had found the lyrics and a few versions of the song on YouTube. I was a little leery of having to deconstruct the song and put together my own arrangement of it, so I searched for a MIDI file of the song, and voila! The song came together really quickly, within a few hours. And we had so much fun!!

In an effort to keep the musical juices flowing all year long, we came up with this idea to record a song every week. We’re sticking with the same formula: Keep it simple, don’t sweat the details, and have fun!

We hope you are having as much fun listening as we are recording.

We will have to ponder whether or not to post “Sisters”. It is a “Kristin-only” song.

Ya know, you should seriously consider writing kids music. I’m sure you two could lay down some really wacky tracks. Most comps of kids songs I’ve listened to are just some douche with a Casio and midi library. They’re so bad, I’ve resorted to making my own mixes of 60′s bubble gum, like the Archie’s and the Monkeys, for Spencer. There’s gotta be a market of hipster parents (like the ones who let their kids watch Yo Gabba Gabba) who don’t want to be stuck listening to lame kids songs all the time in the car. There’s seriously an untapped niche market here, I’m telling you.

Something to think about! If only marketing was as much fun as singing…

I work in a library and I work in the Young Peoples Program and do baby rhyme time and toddler time. I love your song The Beanbag Rock and i was wondering where I could get a copy to play in our cd player for toddler time.Do you have a cd I could purchase over the net?

    Cheers Tracey
