a lifetime of tape recordings

My name is Norm. I like to make tape recordings.

I've been recording myself, friends and family since 1978, when I received a tape recorder as a gift from my mom and dad. I kept all of these recordings and now, 32 years later, I have thousands of hours on tape, CD, mini-disc, hard drives, memory cards. I'd like to share some of them with you.

If you want to get technical, this legacy began on April 11, 1976, exactly 34 years ago, when my dad recorded me singing, giggling, and telling surrealist stories. Here's my favorite segment:

Henry And His Post Hole Digger - 4/11/1976

PARAPHRASED TRANSCRIPT: (Read along!) Once a time there was a little boy named Harry, and Harry had a post hole digger. And Harry had some tago. And the tago was sent to the Three Bears. Then, Mama Bear said: "I want to get some tago."

- ABOUT THE PHOTO: This is my 3rd birthday, April 8, 1976. There's Gwen, myself, Holly and Darren. Note the "bedposts" in the background on the right. You will be seeing them again. {Spoiler: They are pure evil.}
